Project Development & Partnership Update

The FUTO Clean Water Initiative is currently in the advanced planning, institutional engagement, and fundraising phase. Trisipia Limited is working with development partners, philanthropic foundations, universities, and impact-driven institutions to mobilize grant funding, technical support, and strategic partnerships required to establish a modern, solar-powered drinking water production facility serving the Federal University of Technology Owerri and surrounding communities.

The Challenge

Access to safe and affordable drinking water remains a significant public health challenge for thousands of students and residents within and around the Federal University of Technology Owerri. The university community, with an estimated population of over 39,000 students, relies heavily on commercially produced sachet water, much of which varies in quality and affordability. Waterborne diseases continue to affect students, disrupting academic performance, increasing healthcare costs, and placing unnecessary financial pressure on families.

Our Solution

The FUTO Clean Water Initiative is a flagship public health and infrastructure project that will establish a modern, fully automated, solar-powered water treatment and sachet water production facility. Designed to operate in full compliance with NAFDAC standards, the facility will deliver safe, affordable, and microbiologically certified drinking water while reducing dependence on unreliable electricity through renewable energy integration. Beyond improving access to clean water, the project will create employment opportunities, strengthen public health outcomes, and establish a scalable model that can be replicated across universities and underserved communities throughout Nigeria.

Project Development Roadmap

Secure strategic partnerships with development agencies, philanthropic organizations, and institutional funders.
Complete land acquisition, engineering design, and regulatory approvals.
Procure and install advanced water treatment, purification, packaging, and renewable energy systems.
Obtain NAFDAC certification and complete independent laboratory quality verification.
Commission commercial production and establish a sustainable distribution network serving the university and surrounding communities.
Scale the model for implementation in additional educational institutions and underserved communities across Nigeria.
